MLDS Architects: Featured Project Highlights

Brookhaven Walk is designed as an 850,000 sq. ft. open air, pedestrian friendly retail development unlike most others. The project is located within the Pine Barron’s Region and planned to fit within the previously cleared area, leaving half of the site in a naturally vegetated state. This combined with the numerous landscaped walks, 900 trees and pedestrian elements added to the project has gained approval from the Pine Barron’s Commission. The project will feature a wide variety of tenants and uses, all of which will fall under the design scheme of a colonial town in keeping with the region it is located in.

Architecture

Architecture is considered to be both the art and science of designing and building of structures. At the same time, design maintains a balance between aesthetics and functionality. Additionally it is of the utmost importance that the built environment maintain the health, safety and welfare of all persons for which it serves. It is ultimately, through the combined efforts of the entire team, owner, architect and builder, that a project may become a reality.

Planning

Planning is an integral part of the building process. A successful project should incorporate thought in the various aspects of its scope. Design

The collaboration of the owner and designer is essential in the sharing of ideas, goals, context and functions in the success of a project. A project may start as a simple parti or sketch and progress through the use of various designing techniques to develop into a presentation of the architect’s vision of the project.
