Robert V. Keyloun, AIA

Mr. Keyloun, A registered and nationally certified architect, received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the New York Institute of Technology in 1996. He is a member in good standing of the American Institute of Architects and the New York Society of Architects. He has been granted National Certification from the prestigious National Certification Architectural Review Board. MLDS Architects, Principal Architect, Founded over 50 years ago our firm maintains a fluid diversity in response to the ever changing needs of our clients. Our senior staff members maintain active roles in our projects and professional presentations. We like to celebrate our senior staff members, we call “Starchitects” since their Couture shopping center designs are most notable througout New York.

Mario DiCocco, RA, Architect

Mr. DiCocco is a registered Architect in the State of New York and is a member of the N.C.A.R.B. In 1994, Mr. DiCocco was promoted to Office and Production Manager and advanced to partnership status in January of 2002.

Architecture

Architecture is considered to be both the art and science of designing and building of structures. At the same time, design maintains a balance between aesthetics and functionality. Additionally it is of the utmost importance that the built environment maintain the health, safety and welfare of all persons for which it serves. It is ultimately, through the combined efforts of the entire team, owner, architect and builder, that a project may become a reality.

Planning

Planning is an integral part of the building process. A successful project should incorporate thought in the various aspects of its scope. Each project has its own unique considerations that must be taken into account. It is in this planning process that the conclusions reached will have a significant impact on the direction the design of the project will take. The development of a project’s program, outlining its requirements and needs, will become the building blocks of the designing process.

Design

Design is a process by which a project is developed to reach its final form. This process analyzes a project’s program to discover the many various possibilities in achieving its goals. The collaboration of the owner and designer is essential in the sharing of ideas, goals, context and functions in the success of a project. A project may start as a simple parti or sketch and progress through the use of various designing techniques to develop into a presentation of the architect’s vision of the project.
